"What's really important to me is synthetic biodiversity research. For many environmental questions it is important to synthesize what's already known and all of the experiments that have been done to figure out what it is we don't know and where the holes are in our knowledge. So for me the big issues are how do we preserve biodiversity. Especially the biodiversity of forests. So how do we manage our forests that they can remain available for future generations."
